Final Fantasy XI allows players to enter the world of Vana'diel. The original software pack allows players to experience the storylines of three cities up to rank 6 and level 12 jobs.

Expansion Packs

An expansion pack is an optional add-on that provides supplemental content to a game. In the case if Final Fantasy XI, an expansion pack gives the player access to additional areas, monsters, cities, NPCs, quests, missions, and (in some cases) extra jobs.

Expansion Chapters

Unlike previous expansions, Expansions Scenarios will only be able to be purchased from PlayOnline. (As opposed to buying CDs/DVDs.) They will individually have less content than a full expansion, but will also cost less. (Approximately $10.)
