Abjuration Overview
Abjurations are items that are used to "purify" cursed pieces of armor and food items. Abjurations are obtained in many different ways. Abjurations are Rare and Exclusive. To use an abjuration a person must have the corresponding cursed item. Cursed Items are synthesized and are found on the Auction House under Others -> Cursed Items.
Obtaining Abjurations
Abjurations are obtained in three ways: HNM, KSNM, and Einherjar. HNMs are the most common way to obtain abjurations. Each HNM has a specific list of possible abjurations it can drop, although some HNMs do not drop any. KSNMs do not typically drop the more popular abjurations, and Einherjar has proven to be difficult, with a low drop rate.
Purifying Cursed Items
Now, once you have your cursed item and its corresponding abjuration, go to Northern San d'Oria. In the cathedral there is a room to the left where you can find an NPC named Alphollon C Meriard. Trade him the cursed item and abjuration; he will use the abjuration to lift the curse, rewarding you with a piece of usable gear, which is also Rare/Ex.
Abjuration Sets
There are eight sets of Abjurations: Aquarian, Wyrmal, Martial, Neptunal, Earthen, Dryadic, Hadean, and Phantasmal. Most are obtained from HNM and sky activities, however the Phantasmal and Hadean set are exclusive to Einherjar.
Aquarian (Zenith)
Dryadic (Shura)
Earthen (Adaman)
Hadean (Shadow)
Martial (Koenig)
Neptunal (Hecatomb)
Phantasmal (Shadow)
Wyrmal (Crimson)
Notes on Cursed Items
Cursed items are synthesizable items found on the Auction House. Cursed equipment cannot, however, be equipped until "uncursed" or "purified." The HQ version of a cursed item is denoted by a -1 as opposed to the traditional +1 (e.g. Cursed Slacks -1). Once uncursed, it will gain the +1 designation (e.g Zenith Slacks +1).
